By Car

Hartington HayloftTravelling North
From London, Birmingham and the South the Peak District has excellent road links via the M1 and M6.

If travelling on the M1, get off at Junction 24a. Take the A50 west (Stoke-on-Trent), and then A515 north.

If travelling on the M6, leave at Junction 13 (Stafford) and head along the A449 to the Town Centre. Then take the A518 towards Uttoxeter. Join the A50 east (Derby) then get on the A515 north to Buxton.

Hartington has good access off the A515 Ashbourne to Buxton road. The junction to Hartington is approx. 11 miles from Ashbourne, after passing through Newhaven (petrol station on the right-hand side) just before the Jug and Glass Pub. Take the B5054 (Mill Lane) on the left to the village (signposted Hartington 2 miles).

On entering the village centre, the Devonshire Arms is on the left. Look to your right and the duckpond is in the centre of the village. Keep looking right and you will see the Heart Of the Country Gift Shop, immediately to the left of the shop is Church St. Turn up this road and The Hayloft Bed & Breakfast is the second property on the left hand-side.

Travelling South
From Leeds, Manchester and the North the peak district can be reached from the M1, M6 and M60.

If travelling on the M1, leave at exit at Junction 28 (Alfreton) and head west on the A38 (Derby). At Ripley turn right onto the A610. Continue on here until you reach the A6. Head north on the A6 (Matlock) leave this road on the A5012. Travel along here until you reach the A515, then head north.

If travelling on the M6, leave at Junction 19 and head towards Knutsford on the A537. Continue on this road south east, through Macclesfield and head to Buxton (join the A54 to Buxton). Go South on the A515.

If travelling on the M60, leave at Junction 1 (Stockport) and get onto the A6 towards Buxton. At Buxton go south on the A515.

On the A515 south Hartington is approx. 10 miles from Buxton. Take the B5054 (Mill Lane) on the right to the village (signposted Hartington 2 miles).
