
Visitors to the Hayloft can enjoy many walks from the door such as the beauty of Biggin Dale, Wolfscote Dale, Pilsbury Castle as well as the Peak District National Park Authority Heritage Walks. The local trails (for walkers/cyclists/horse-riders) including the Tissington Trail, Manifold Trails and the new Cycle Trails Plus can all be accessed in or near to Hartington.
After a day enjoying the beautiful landscape and stunning scenery, you can safely store your cycles with us at the Hayloft and even use our drying facilities in readiness for your next adventure into the Peak District and nearby Staffordshire Moorlands.
Towns nearby to the Hayloft will provide a wealth of activities for a day out. All within 12 miles of Hartington, you can visit Bakewell, famous for its markets on a Monday, not forgetting the traditional Bakewell puddings; Leek, with a fabulous selection of antique shops; and the beautiful spa town of Buxton, famous for its magnificent Opera House, Thermal Baths and Pavilion Gardens.A visit to Matlock Bath is also a delight with it's restored gardens. Why not try visiting Peak Village and Masson Mills designer shopping but not at designer prices! The cable cars as well as the spectacular Matlock Bath illuminations in the autumn are also a must.
A short drive away from The Hayloft are the magnificent stately homes of Chatsworth House -- you can tour the house, visit the gardens or go wild in the adventure playground -- and
Haddon Hall, the setting for Thornfield in the recent BBC series Jane Eyre.We are ideally situated for visiting the beautiful and scenic Dovedale.
